Carol Miriam Eckert, 94, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025.
Carol was born in Chicago, IL on August 16, 1931, lived in Oak Park, IL throughout her childhood, and graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School. As a child, she enjoyed visiting Williams Bay, WI during the summer with her family, developed a love for art, and built lifelong friendships. She graduated from Lake Forest College and spent her career working in advertising as an illustrator for companies including The Buchen Company and the GTE Agency.
In the early 1960s, Carol moved to Des Plaines, IL with her family and enjoyed hosting friends over to ice skate on the neighborhood pond. She loved reading, played crossword puzzles daily, was fascinated with Egypt and King Tut, was fond of the Chinese culture, and had a love for chimpanzees, learning all she could through Jane Goodall. Above all, she was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents William Jr. and Grace Lydia Eckert. She is survived by her brother William Eckert III, nieces Amy Eckert and Julie (Philip) Guziec, and young nieces and nephews Meagan, Robert, Joseph, William and Grace.
