Adelaida Nieves

With hearts full of love, deep sorrow, and peaceful acceptance, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Adelaida Nieves, affectionately known as Aida, who entered eternal rest with a gentle smile on May 15, 2025, at the age of 75. Adelaida was the devoted wife of 56 years to Ismael Nieves, and the loving mother of Ismael Nieves Jr. and Marisol Nieves. A woman whose strength, humor, and warmth left a lasting imprint on everyone she met. As a mother, she led with intentional love, playful sarcasm, and the kind of humor that brought light into even the darkest moments. As a grandmother, she beamed with pride for her grandchildren, each of whom she loved uniquely. Her oldest son, Ismael Jr., is the proud father of Elias Nieves and Elisa Nieves, and her only daughter, Marisol, is the loving mother of Alexis Matias-Nieves, Kaylani Castro-Nieves, and Jineli Castro-Nieves. Aida made sure everyone of them knew they were loved, whether through a shared laugh, a funny story, or a warm hug. She taught all of us that strength and joy can coexist despite any hardship we face. Aida was our sunshine, always ready with a joke, a warm smile, or a word of advice, whether you liked it or not! Her witty sense of humor, even in the hardest times, reminded us that laughter is healing. She faced every challenge with courage and unwavering strength. She taught us to be resilient, face our troubles, and never lose hope. Aida always advised others not to cry, but to laugh through life no matter what. She instilled in us that God is in control in her own words, “Pues, que sea lo que Dios quiera”. To us, Aida was a warrior, a fighter, and the strongest woman in our lives. She lived a beautiful, long life and was loved beyond words. Now, she is ready to rest, and while we miss her, we are comforted in knowing that she is at peace with the Lord. She wanted us to be at peace with her presence and without. We know that our serenity keeps her peaceful in heaven. We will forever honor you. Talk to you later.. PEACE (as she would always say)
