Michael “Mikie” A. Stephens, 68 of Knoxville, TN pass away October 29 in Sayre, PA. Mikie served as decorated officer in the Chicago Police Department for 31 years, 21 as a patrolman and 10 as a detective. After he retired to Knoxville, he served as a detective for the Knox County Sheriff’s Department. Beloved husband of Lola; dear brother of Bonnie (John) and Fred (Martha); loving step-father of Tim (Laurie) Himmelmann, Joseph (Amy) and Jonathan (Joseph); cherished grandfather to Rhiannon Himmelman, Alyssa and Emily Trudniak; Mikie was a NRA benefactor, Quail Forever member, avid hunter, fisherman and boater. In his later years, he happily served as a reading tutor. His sense of humor, penchant for mischief and joy he brought to those around him will be missed. In accordance to Mikie’s wishes, a Memorial Visitation will be held May 14, 2016 from 2-6 PM at Gibbons Family Funeral Home, 5917 W. Irving Park RD., Chicago.
