Elmer J. Piper Jr., passed away at his home on Monday, September 28, 2020 at the age of 89. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice M. Piper nee Jacobs; loving father of Debbie (Alan), Susie (Jeff), Danny (Rosie), Elmer, Frank (Shakee), Patty (Bobby), Mike (Mary), and Jen; proud Papa and GiGi-Pop of 23: Christina, Kimmy (Richie), Elmer John (Michelle), Nicky, Kelly, Alexis, David, Dana, Adam (Abby), Andy, Ashley, Nicole (Brad), Caitlin, Brittney, Danny, Aidan, D.J., Jaxson, Brooklyn, Eli, Peyton, Emmett, and Lana; dear brother to Barbara, Donna, and Ronnie, and fond uncle, cousin and friend to many. Visitation will be held on October 2, 2020 from 9 A.M. – 12 P.M. at Gibbons Funeral Home on 5917 W. Irving Park Rd. (½ Block East of Austin). Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park in Forest Park. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are limited to only 50 attendees at a time. We kindly ask that you quickly exit the funeral home after paying your respects to the family so that all visitors have an opportunity to enter. Masks and proper social distancing are required. Once capacity is reached , attendees will need to wait outside the building until allowed to enter. The coffee lounge is not available for use, so please refrain from bringing food or beverage into the funeral home.

  3. I was so sorry to hear the news of Mr. Piper passing. Whenever we were over for a party he was always welcoming and friendly. He will be missed dearly by all of you and I was glad to have him pass through my life. I’m sure Alice and Bobby will be waiting for him with open arms.
    I am so sorry I was unable to be with you today for his service, but he and all of you were in my thoughts many times today.
