Kathy Clancy, 62, passed away peacefully in her home holding the hands of and surrounded by family.
Kathy was born to John & Nellie Gavin. There was never a dull moment growing up with five siblings. Kathy treasured her family above all else and was married to the love of her life, Jim, for over 40 years. Everyone who met them knew there was no Jimmy without Kathy and no Kathy without Jimmy. Since then, the two have been inseparable and shared a love that so few are gifted in their lifetime.
Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, aunt, cousin and friend who fought tirelessly for almost three years to enjoy the precious time she had with her daughter (best friend), Shannon and grandson, Gavin. Kathy kept her sense of humor with her entire fight making sure that others were more comfortable than she was on a day-to-day basis.
Kathy was a faithful Catholic who believed in the power of prayer. Kathy was gentle, patient, kind, empathetic and ever so welcoming to everyone she met. There is not a day that will go by that her warm smile will not be missed. May she rest in eternal peace she most gracefully has earned.
The Gavin Family are wonderful people, they helped our family get established in this Great country. They invited our family to wonderful numerous family gatherings decades ago. There we saw Kathy display a beautiful energy that would bring joy to all of us in her presence. Kathy & her happy sister Eileen always minded the younger kids at any of the family gatherings when the play got dialed amongst the Obrien Families, Sullivan, Honan, Bunce & our family. I will always remember a strong, happy & smart Kathy. Godspeed Her Beautiful soul.
Such a beautiful woman inside and out, and a wonderful mother. She will be greatly missed. ❤️
So very sorry for your loss. You are all in our prayers. May you feel the loving arms of Our Lady and Our Lord around you helping you through this.

Iam so sorry Shannon to you and your family. I thought the visitation was going to be out here. I don’t know my way around in Chicago and it’s to expensive for Austyn to come home for the weekend. Please if there is anything we can do for you and dad let us know. Your mom will always be with you so continue to make her proud of you.All my prayers and love for you and your family. Please come visit or call anytime. Grandma DeVoss
So sorry to hear of my cousin Cathy’s sad passing. We have so many happy memories of when she visited Ireland as a teenager, with the Gavin clan, and when we met her in her home house in Chicago during my summer working there and on vacation. She’ll be deeply missed by all who knew her. Our sincere condolences to the Clancy and Gavin families.
