Clare, Ireland; beloved wife of the late Larry; loving mother of Anne (Lenny Bird), Laura (Tilghman Evans), and the late Danny; dear sister of Bridget (the late Maurice) McKenna and Michael (Bridie) Crawford of Chicago, the late Tom, Cathy, Paddy, and Nancy Crawford; fond sister-in-law of Patrick (the late Dimple), Jack (the late Bridie), Matt, Jimmy (Sandy) and the late Mary (the late Gene) Carroll; fond aunt, great-aunt, and cousin of many. Mary always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. While family was always first for Mary, she befriended people wherever she went — all the way from her small village in Ireland, to raising her family in the big city of Chicago, to her final home at Central Baptist Village. Her color of choice: green. She decked out her home of 49 years on Narragansett in 40 shades of it. Mary loved her Chicago sports teams, shopping, and enjoying a good meal out. She loved her cuppa tea, and having a great chat. She was beloved by all. We all have a large hole in our hearts with her absence. May we bring forward her spirit of gentle kindness. Funeral Saturday 10:30 AM from Gibbons Family Funeral Home 5917 W. Irving Park Rd (½ Block East of Austin) to St. Priscilla Church. Mass 11 AM. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation Friday 3-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Baptist Village, www.cbvillage.org. For info 773-777-3944 or www.GFFH.com
