Jacqueline Ryan

Jacqueline Ryan, 85, beloved wife of the late Jack “Jocko” for 57 years, loving mother to Kathy (Doug), cherished grandmother of Helen Zorn. Dear sister of the late Stanley (Margaret) Sherry, the late Ronald (the late Mildred). Fond aunt and friend to many.
Jackie loved to travel, from a young age with her mother, Helen Sherry, continuing the tradition with daughter, Kathy, and eventually with her granddaughter, Helen. Some of her favorite places to visit were Las Vegas, quick 24 hour jaunts to Atlantic City, Wisconsin Dells, and anywhere warm with a beach and pool.

Jackie spent close to 15 years volunteering in the gift shop at Community First Medical Center, where she was a bright presence to the staff and patients due to her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone at any time. She was also a proud member of the Saint Genevieve Friendship Club. When she was not traveling or helping others, she was always proud to boast of the achievements of her daughter and granddaughter. The only thing Jackie loved more than bringing joy to others was animals. Throughout her life, Jackie and Jack devoted their lives to rescuing and taking in stray cats. Her cats were her babies, and she brought immense joy and comfort to their lives as well.Jackie made friends everywhere she went, and those who had the privilege to feel her love and warmth will never forget it. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Wright-Way Animal Rescue.

Visitation Tuesday, December 23rd 8am until time of prayer 10:30 AM at Gibbons Family Funeral Home, 5917 W. Irving Park Rd. (1/2 Block East of Austin). Mass 11 AM at St. Pascal Church. Interment Maryhill Cemetery.
