Carol Watkins

Carol Watkins, age 77, passed away surrounded by love, leaving a legacy of warmth and family devotion. Born in 1946, Carol lived a life rich in joy and compassion, always placing her family at the heart of her world.

Carol will be remembered as a matriarch who cherished her role within the family, embracing every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her presence was a comforting constant at family gatherings, her laughter and stories a source of continual joy.

Carol was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her. Her kindness touched numerous lives, and her sincerity made every acquaintance feel like family. Her home was a haven of warmth, often filled with the melodies of Motown and the classics she adored, a testament to her vibrant spirit.

She leaves behind a loving family: her daughter, Dawn Wilson; sons, Jason McRaven (Eunsung), Tom Watkins (Melanie), and George Watkins (Lisa); son-in-law, Sean Conneely, and her cherished grandchildren, Veronica, Venessa, Amanda, Christi, Violet, Tommy, and Paige. Carol was also a proud great-grandmother to Gianna, Mable, Kenna, Claire, Elora, Willow, Kilian, Kaia, Jake, Evelyn, Colin, Graham, and Abby.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, GB Watkins; daughter, Gail Conneely; sister, Linda, and great-grandson Daniel. Carol is now joyfully reunited with them in the afterlife, undoubtedly enjoying the eternal tunes of her “Oldies but Goodies” music.

The family will be Memorial Visitation Saturday, May 11, 1:30-4:30 PM at Gibbons Family Funeral Home, 5917 W. Irving Park Rd, to remember and honor the life of Carol Watkins. In remembering Carol, the family encourages you to reflect on the moments of joy and love she brought into your lives. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated, continuing her legacy of generosity and love.

Carol Watkins will be profoundly missed, but her love and lessons will forever resonate with those fortunate to have known her.
