James Maye, native of Aclare, County Sligo, Ireland, loving husband of Nora “Noreen” Maye nee McGowan, devoted father of Tara and Liam, fond brother of the late Padraig (Terry), Milo (Patricia), and Willie (Charlotte). Dear uncle and friend to many. US Army Veteran.
A memorial service will be held at Gibbons Family Funeral Home on Sunday, March 1st from 3-8 PM.
Memorial Mass Monday, March 2nd St. Eugene’s Church 7958 W. Foster Ave (West of Canfield) at 10:30 AM.
Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421.
So, very, very Sorry Aunt Noreen, Cousins Tara and Liam, for the loss of your Husband and dad, Uncle James. A gentleman to say the least, very fond memories growing up, of James, when he would be on holidays in Claggan, helping him when outside toilet was put in meadow, front of nans house. James and Noreen looked after us well when we went to Chicago in “78 too, taking Mom RIP 🙏, Betty Ann RIP 🙏 and me out on their boat along with Red Setter Shane. As I said, many fond memories, thinking of you all at such a sad, sad time, may James rest in peace. Sending hugs and kisses from Kevin, Dee, Kerina, Maurice and Kayleigh O’Carroll (Co Kerry).
