Mary Karklins, beloved wife of the late Maris, cherished daughter to the late Margaret and Michael; loving mother to Michaela Leavy; dear sister to Caroline (Wally) Schmidt and the late Stephen Leavy (Carolynn Simkus), fond aunt to Diana (Scott Bruemmer), Jarrod (Jennifer), and Eric Schmidt; treasured cousin and friend to many.
Mary (otherwise known as Aunt Minnie) will be remembered for her strong spirit and hearty sense of humor. Her love for sweets showed even on the outside. She was deeply loving to those she cared for, whether they were animals or people. An enjoyer of entertainment, especially Walker Texas Ranger and Law & Order.

I went to grammar school and high school with your mom. She was a great lady. We always had a lot of fun together. haven’t seen her for so many years but looking at her picture she looks just like Mary Levy dead back then! God bless you and your family and you will be in my prayers.🙏
Michaela and family – I’m terribly sorry for your loss. Mary spent years of wonderful service to our Thorp family and was always there at our teacher luncheons, when they provided them with the PTA moms. She was also a very kind and caring lady. Dear MICHAELA We are all very sorry to hear of Mary’s death, thinking of you Caroline Diana Eric Gerard Wally and extended Family at this sad time,Mary was such a lovely lady full of fun and laughter, she was always there to take us out and about when we visited Chicago and that was many time’s.Hopefully we get to watch her funeral on line.
