Thomas Mueller

Thomas Mueller
Born June 8, 1949 • At Rest August 1, 2026

Thomas “Tommy” Mueller was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anastasia Mueller; his brothers, Edward Mueller and John Mueller; and his sister, Kathleen O’Neill.

He is survived by his sisters, Marie (Jack) Bell and Christine (Steve) Garten; and his brother, George (the late Julianne) Mueller.

Tommy was a cherished son and brother and an adoring uncle to 13 nieces and nephews and 21 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also a wonderful neighbor and a loyal friend to so many.

A lifelong resident of Chicago, Tommy was born and raised in St. Michael Parish before making his home in the Portage Park neighborhood on the city’s Northwest Side. He dedicated 30 years of service to People’s Gas. In retirement, he enjoyed meeting family and friends for coffee and breakfast, exploring the city, and, most recently, attending parties and dancing the night away at The Clarendale.

A devoted Catholic, Tommy will be remembered for his joyful spirit, how selflessly he cared for others and his extraordinary generosity. His kindness, laughter and faith touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

My deepest condolences on behalf of the whole team at Clarendale Six Corners. Tom was a fixture on the dance floor, a friend to everyone, and deeply kind and curious until the very end.
