What’s not to love about a man who loved his family — almost as much as he loved the New York Yankees or the Chicago Cubs, cold Miller Lites, Fishing, Golf, the Beach, and being a Member of Local 130 Plumbers Union?Joseph Alan Thiel, 49, of Chicago, Illinois, died on December 26, 2023.Joe was born in Chicago in 1974. Joe attended St. John’s Lutheran Grade School, Graduating from Notre Dame College Preparatory High School, Joe was an honored Journeyman Union Plumber Local 130 for 23 years.Joe is survived by his children: Abigail Rose and Jake Sterling Thiel. Sister: Jennifer (Greg) James. Nephew: Matthew Jahnke. Niece: Cristina James. Ex-Wife: Michelle Louis-Thiel. Girlfriend: Sara Mancuso.

Gail Conneely (McRaven), age 54; beloved wife of Sean; loving mother of Amanda Blair, loving daughter of Carol and the late GB Watkins and Richard Butterworth; cherished Gaga of Gianna; dear sister to Dawn Wilson, Jason (Eunsung) McRaven, Eric (Lisette) Butterworth, Danny (Amanda) Butterworth, Tom (Melanie) Watkins, and George (Lisa) Watkins Jr.; amazing sister-in-law to Michael (Kristin) Conneely, Mary Margaret (Bill) MacFadyen, and Thomas (Shirley) Conneely; spectacular aunt to many including Christi, Paige, Colman, Morgan, Jillian, Liam, Fiona, Caidyn and Colm.

Lifelong friend and sister from another mister of the Bitch and Wine crew: Allyson, Jackie, Janet, Laila, Susan Traci, and Maria. She touched the lives of so many, it was truly an honor to know her and call her a friend. She loved life and her fur babies: Mikey, Chuck, Coby, Abby, Lucy, Gigi and Oki. She was passionate about music, gardening, animal organizations especially PAWS, but most importantly spending time with Gianna. Her loss will be felt immensely by many.

John T. Heger, Jr.

Chief Master Sergeant John T. Heger, Jr., 91; died peacefully December 27, 2023. He proudly served 35 years of military service, with 20 years as part of the National Guard Services. John was the NCOIC of H.F. Radio and member of the 264th Combat Communications Squadron. In 1953 John became a long-standing member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2578.
